Sybil Kelley Jones

Mrs. Sybil Kelley Jones of Hartsville, went to be with her Lord & Savior during the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, at the age of 72.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 on Thursday morning, August 26th, 2021, from the Kelleytown Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Charles McLendon and Reverend Kitrell Benton officiating.  The family will be speaking with friends following the service at the graveside.

A native and lifelong resident of Hartsville, Mrs. Jones was a daughter of James Heyward & the late Helen Segars Kelley.  She retired after several years of assisting with teaching at First Presbyterian of Hartsville, worked with Dr. Turbeville, and the Medical Group.  Sybil loved reading and traveling with her friends; especially her long-time friend, Bobbie Henderson.  She was greatly loved and showed love to all, but her greatest love of all was her family.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Donald Eugene Jones, Jr. of the home; sons, Gabe (Rebecca) Newsome of St. Petersburg, FL and Lee (Trina) Newsome of Hartsville; stepson, Donnie (Samantha) Jones, III of Hartsville; 9 grandchildren; and siblings, Eddie Kelley and Jan Horton.
