Shirley Hoffman

December 9, 1947 — July 13, 2020

Ms. Shirley Ann McDougald Griggs Hoffman, 72, passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2020, after a lengthy battle with Lymphoma.

A native of Hartsville, Ms. Hoffman is survived by her son Kenneth, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, and granddaughter Meri Bridges Hoffman.

Shirley was a dedicated mother  first and foremost who treasured her son and embraced every moment with him. Her love for her son was only matched by her love for Meri Bridges. She never thought she could love anyone as much as her son until she met her granddaughter for the first time. She was devoted to her family and always put them first, going as far as traveling hours to see her granddaughter graduate college despite being in treatment for cancer at the time.

Shirley was kind, funny, a bit stubborn, and endlessly giving.

Simply, Shirley should be remembered for her loving spirit. She loved her family, her faith, her grand-dogs, children, and – often times—singing her favorite songs earnestly and off-tune. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

The family will have a private graveside service on July 16, 2020 directed by Norton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Hospice and Community Care at P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.

Norton Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hoffman family.
