Rev. William Delano "W.D." Huneycutt

Hartsville, S.C.

Graveside service for Rev. William Delano Huneycutt age 87 will be held Tuesday at 4:00 at the Ruby Cemetery in Ruby, S.C. directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Hazel Mixon will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm at Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville.

Rev. Huneycutt was born in Ruby a son of the late Rev. L.A. Huneycutt and Mary Florence Stogner Huneycutt. Rev. Huneycutt was a graduate of Furman University and Post Graduate of the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, N.C. with a Masters in Divinity. He was a retired Baptist Minister having served the Orchard Street Baptist Church in Mayo, S.C.; North Wadesboro Baptist Church in Wadesboro, N.C.; First Baptist Church in Norwood, N.C.; South Hartsville Baptist Church in Hartsville, S.C. and Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Hartsville, S.C.  He also retired from the United States Postal Service in Hartsville and also Clanton’s Auto Auction in Darlington. He loved restoring antique radios, antique cars and collecting antiques and was an avid reader and a lover of animals including his red cats.

Surviving  are his wife of 67 years Shirley Lee McCraw Huneycutt, Hartsville; two daughters, Connie Jo Hancock, Hartsville and Susan Elizabeth (Steve) Wallace, Chesterfield; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; 3 nieces, Letitia Ward and Phyllis Griggs, Hartsville and Amy Huneycutt Lindler, Columbia; one nephew, Jeff Huneycutt, Hartsville. He was preceded in death by his Siblings, Mary Alton Griggs Sullivan and Marion Reginald Huneycutt and a daughter Linda Gay Tryler and a great grandson, Justice Brumett.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to Agape Hospice for the care which was provided to Rev. Huneycutt and to his caregivers, Brigette Hicks who he called “Pinky”, Jenny McInville who he called “Blondie” and Tracie Parker who he called “Him”.

Memorials may be made to the Roxie Animal Rescue, 2125 Rancho Road, Hartsville, S.C. 29550 or to a charity of ones choice.
