Bishopville, S.C.

Pam Begg DiGiovanni age 63 passed away suddenly on Monday August 16 at Carolina Pines Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the Ashland United Methodist Church. Rev. Champ Squires will officiate. Visitation will be following the service.

Pam was born in Gloucester, MA, the daughter of the late Alex Begg and Carol Begg Martell. She was a graduate of the New Hampshire School of Nursing and had been a Registered Nurse for 40 years. She specialized in Obstetrical Nursing, a field that she loved and thrived in, exhuberantly coaching many mothers as they brought their babies into this world.

She was able to combine her love for travel and nursing by becoming a traveling nurse, which let her practice her profession throughout the U.S. including Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands. She formed lasting friendships wherever she went, leaving her signature laugh imprinted in the memory of all she met.

She was preceeded in death by her husband William DiGiovanni, her parents, her step father, Robert Martell, her brother Alex (Mickey) Begg and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

She leaves behind to mourn, but celebrate her life and huge giving heart, her sisters Maryellen (Bill) Bannister of Bishopville and their sons, Will, Cole and Logan Bannister of New Hampshire and  Sandra Martell of New Hampshire; her sister in laws, Laura Lee Widman and Donna Faye DiGiovanni of Massachusetts; her niece Lara Begg of New Hampshire; her Uncle Dick (Dianne) Begg  and their sons Brian and Andrew of Ohio; her Aunt Jean (John)  Mulcahy and their son John; her dear friend Al Jones.

Pam treasured each and every phone call and visit with her many many cousins and friends including Kurt and Patty Carlson and their children, Karen (Bob) Scola of Massachusetts, Robin Agostini Gentile of Massachusetts, Kathleen “Maloney” and her children of New Hampshire and Nanette Doan of Ohio.

She also adopted the congregation of the Ashland United Methodist Church as her South Carolina family. They were an endless source of strength and support.

Pam’s joyful spirit and tremendous sense of humor will forever be a part of each and every one of us.

In lieu of flowers, funds may be donated to Ashland United Methodist Church in Pam’s memory, CO Yarbourgh, 426 Hillcrest Road, Hartsville, S.C. 29550
