Linda Jean Jordan Smith

November 6, 1940 — November 10, 2020

Hartsville - At Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center Linda Jean Jordan Smith with her daughter at her side on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 in her 80th year left this mortal life behind to be with the Lord on her next adventure.

Linda’s passions were learned from her father, and there was nothing she enjoyed more that being outside.  During the spring and summer you could find her at Santee or the beach fishing, and during the fall and winter she would be up at the Sand Hills hunting.

Linda was world-renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is.  She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.

With that said she was genuine to a fault, a loving friend to the end and yet she sugar coated nothing.  She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh.  She made friends everywhere she went.

Her extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient at knowing more curse words than most people learned in a lifetime.

Linda was a dedicated mother first and foremost.  She treasured her daughter and embraced every moment with her.  She especially loved her role as MeMa, and she became MeMa to everyone in her later years.

She is the beloved daughter of the late Jesse Jordan, and the late Josephine Spears Jordan Harris.

Loving & devoted mother of Honey Newberry (& husband, Robert) of Darlington, SC.

Adored MeMa of Heather Suen of North Charleston, SC, Nathaniel Newberry (& wife, Leslie) of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Nicholas Newberry of Mesa, AZ.

Cherished Great-MeMa of Madison Suen of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Abigail & Phinneus Jordan Suen of North Charleston, SC.

Dear sister of Willard Jordan (& wife, Patsy) of Oak Island, NC, Jimmy Jordan (& wife, Peggy) of Oak Island, NC,  Bruce Harris Jr of New Orleans, LA, Mitchell Jordan of Hartsville, SC, Milton Jordan(& wife, Renee) of Hartsville, SC, Marvin Jordan (& wife, Wynette) of Hartsville, SC, Marty Jordan (& wife, Loretta) of Hartsville, SC and Judy Jordan (beloved sister-in-law) of Hartsville, SC.

Also survived by many nieces & nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring of next year to honor Linda.  Please reach out to the family in May to find out the final arrangements.

Norton Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Smith family.
