Kathleen Loretta Floyd Lawson

November 14, 1931 — November 13, 2019

Hartsville – Mrs. Kathleen Loretta Floyd Lawson, 87, went to be with The Lord on Wednesday morning, November 13th, 2019, at the McLeod Hospice House.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Friday afternoon, November 15th, 2019, from North Hartsville Baptist Church.  Reverend Ladell Humphries and Reverend Jeff Cockrell will officiate with burial following in Darlington Memory Gardens.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  The family will also be receiving friends anytime at the home of Eddie & Lynn Lawson at 1133 Willow Drive in Hartsville.

A native of Scranton, but resided in Hartsville for over 50 years, Mrs. Lawson was a daughter of the late Shelly & Pearl Stevens Floyd.  Kathleen loved working in her beautiful yards, was an amazing cook, and dearly loved her family.  She deeply loved The Lord and her church family at North Hartsville Baptist Church.  Kathleen remained a witness for her Lord through her 10 year illness right until her home going.


Surviving are her son, Eddie (Lynn) Lawson of Hartsville; daughter, Cynthia (Jimmy) Jolly of Darlington; grandchildren: Crystal (Jamie) Logan, Kelsey Jolly, Landon Jolly, Brad (Tammy) Lawson, Trent (Sandy) Lawson and Christina Lawson; great-grandchildren: GracieLynne Logan, Bailee Logan, Riley Lawson, Olivia Lawson, Megan Lawson, Tanner Lawson, Gatlin Lawson, Logan Vlachoyannis, and Landry Vlachoyannis; sisters, Harriette Floyd, Jean Stamperhart, and Karen Flowe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Lawson, Sr.; son, Gregg Lawson; grandson, Jamie Lawson; brothers: Buck Floyd, Jason Floyd, Emmett Floyd; sister, Ginny Hayes; and a daughter-in-law, Cleva Lawson.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to McLeod Hospice at 1203 East Cheves Street, Florence, South Carolina 29506.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to McLeod Hospice and all the staff of the McLeod Hospice House for their care of Mrs. Lawson during her illness.
