Bishopville, S.C.

It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Glenn Folsom, Sr. of Bishopville, S.C. passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of November 23, 2021. Memorial services will be held Friday at 2:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Champ Squires will officiate. Visitation will be following the service at the funeral home.

Glenn was born in Bishopville the youngest son of the late Stephen Lawrence and Eunice Lee Folsom. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife Annie N. Folsom and his oldest son Glenn Folsom, Jr. Glenn and Annie dated from ages 16 years until 19 years old and married at the age of 19 and 22 years. They spent their lives together raising their three children: Glenn Folsom, Jr. (Deceased), Debbie Folsom, Columbia, Mike Folsom and wife Cornelia of Bishopville, grandchildren; Cody (Jordan) Folsom, Lugoff, Sarah Folsom (Carson) Cook, Missoula, Montana, Jenny Folsom (Patrick) McGee, Brunswick, GA, Joseph (Denise) Folsom, III, Camden and Kathy (Gray) Biggins, Lake Wylie, N.C.; great grandchildren, Olivia Folsom, Camden, Will Biggins, Lake Wylie, N.C., Piper Biggins, Lake Wylie, N.C. Gillian (Garrett) Lamontagne, Raeford, N.C., Connor McGee, Brunswick, GA and Bradley McGee, Brunswick, GA; adopted son, Gregory (Crystal) Coleman, Elgin; special friends, Rickey Smith, Cynthia Dunham, Freddie Blackmon, Sheron James and Tywan Goodson.

Glenn went to work for DuPont in Camden in 1950 in Orlon Recovery and retired in 1984 to continue operating Folsom’s Used Cars until well into the 1990’s. Glenn started Folsom’s Used Cars in 1951 and closed the door in 1992 to enjoy Full Retirement.
