James Rodney Atkinson

April 5, 1973 — March 3, 2022

Mr. James Rodney Atkinson, 48, of Hartsville, passed away Thursday morning, March 3rd, 2022, while at home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 on Saturday afternoon, March 5th, 2022, from the New Market United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Grover Johnson officiating.  The family will be speaking with friends following the service at the graveside.

Mr. Atkinson was a native and lifelong of Hartsville who had a huge heart and loved everyone; he was a peacemaker in the family.  He enjoyed fishing and was a sports fan who greatly loved his Clemson Tigers.

Surviving are his parents, Bertha (John Butler) Atkinson and Bea Atkinson, both of Hartsville; children: Elexys Davis, Daisie Atkinson, Bealer Atkinson; siblings, Rocky (Michael) Atkinson and Tina (Dusty) Atkinson; nieces and nephews: Dalton Hodge, Jace Atkinson, Zoey Hodge, and Jaden Atkinson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
