Chapman William Fountain

June 16, 1996 — December 13, 2020

Chapman William Fountain was born on June 16, 1996.  He  passed away on Sunday,  December 13, 2020. He was 24 years old. Chapman graduated from Robert E. Lee Academy.  He resided in Georgetown, SC and was employed by Nucor Steel in Berkeley, SC.

Chapman had a ball in his hand and a twinkle in his eye from a young age.  He played little league sports and continued his football and baseball career as a Cavalier at Robert E. Lee Academy.  His family loved to watch him take the field. Chapman enjoyed Gamecock football on Saturdays. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting in his free time.

He had an infectious smile that he shared with everyone around him.  He found joy in everything he did and brightened the lives of others. Chapman created loyal, long lasting friendships.  His friends will always remember him for his big laugh and fun loving spirit.

Chapman grew up in his church which helped him develop his strong foundation of God and he knew the Lord.  He quoted Bible verses and shared his faith with family and friends.  His favorite was Phillipians 4:11-13.  He would always say, “You better get right with the Lord because the day will be coming when we will see Jesus.”

Chapman will be forever in our hearts and will always be our Doodlebug.

Chapman is survived by his mother,  Elizabeth (Darel) Hance of Hartsville, SC; father,  Wayne (Tara) Fountain of Lamar SC. He also leaves behind his siblings, Hannah Fountain of Hartsville,  Ryan Hance of Washington D.C.; step brother, Cody King, Hartsville; maternal grandparents, Molly and Lloyd Williams of Hartsville; his paternal grandmother, Linda Fountain of Lamar; Uncle, Butch Williams;  cousins, Frances, Lloyd, and Sara Grace.   He is now reunited with his paternal grandfather, Byrd Fountain and his great grandmother, Bernice Blackwell.
