Hartsville, S.C.
Funeral services for William Taylor Woods, age 31 will be held Saturday at 4:30 pm at the Hartsville YMCA Gymnasium directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Beck will officiate. A private burial will be in Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be following the service at the YMCA.
Taylor was born in Darlington a son of William Frank Woods, III and Christy Kelly Woods. Taylor was the epitome of good. In the public light and behind closed doors. He was an amazing husband, father, son, and friend. He loved many things; music, the latest tech (especially sound tech), motocross, mountain biking, eating fried chicken and french fries, cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks, going to Wrightsville Beach and Disney World on family vacations. But most of all, he loved helping create a space where people could come and worship God at his church, One Church Hartsville, where he was the production director. With every fiber of his being, he loved watching his son, Tyla, play sports (all the sports ) and playing anything with him; watching his son, Palmer, explore this big new world and learn new things, and loving his wife, Kayla, with that once in a lifetime love. He put God first in all he did, followed by his family. Our community has suffered a loss, but this was not his final destination.
Surviving are his wife, Kayla Holland Woods, Hartsville; two sons, Tyla Woods and Palmer Woods, Hartsville; his parents of Hartsville; one sister, Riley (Alex) Gray, Hartsville; Father and Mother in Law, Andy & Beverly Martin, Rock Hill; one brother in law, Jacob Martin, Wilmington, N.C.; two sister in laws, Andrea Martin, Charlotte and Bailey Martin, Rock Hill. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sadie Jo Woods.
Norton Funeral Home is honored to serve the Woods family.
