Wayne Blackwell

Wayne Christopher Blackwell, 74, husband of the late Shelia Marie Blackwell, of 413 Pawnee Drive, Walhalla, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

A native of Chesterfield County, SC, Mr. Blackwell was the son of the late Louie Blackwell and Luciel Steen Blackwell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After his service in the Army, he worked as a supervisor for Kendall and later retired from Avnet. Mr. Blackwell enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Mr. Blackwell is survived by his son: Brent C. Blackwell (Jessica) of Seneca, SC; daughter: Kylie Blackwell Roger (Malte) of Alpharetta, GA; sister: Loretta Cole of Heath Springs, SC; four grandchildren: Abigail, Greyson, Torsten and Renden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2019, Davenport Funeral Home in West Union, SC.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Union United Methodist Church in McBee, SC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM, Saturday, prior to the service, at Union United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
