Tammy Renee Priest Shaw

Tammy Renee Priest Shaw, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina. Born on March 29, 1966, in Columbia, South Carolina, Tammy's life was a testament to love, devotion, and kindness.

Tammy had a heart that beat passionately for the creatures she so dearly loved. Her compassion extended beyond animals to the people closest to her—family and friends who were the center of her world.

She was preceded in death by her father, J.T. Shaw, and her brothers, Jay Shaw and Jamie Shaw, whose memories she carried with quiet reverence.

Tammy’s enduring legacy is carried on by her mother, Janice Gainey Shaw of Hartsville. She leaves behind her siblings: Susan Shaw Poole and her husband Jeff of Hartsville, Michael Shaw and his wife Tammy also of Hartsville, and Annette Shaw, also of Hartsville. Her family expanded through her cherished nieces and nephews: Lisa Poole, Jessica Shaw McCall, Katie Anderson, Taylor Blackwell, April Shaw, Mia Hill Shaw, Caleb James, Vance Poole, Cade Poole, Gage Caulder, Waylon Caulder, Cody Shaw, Corey Shaw, and Joseph Tyner Shaw. Tammy’s influence and love were also experienced by numerous great nieces and great nephews, who were fortunate to know her gentle spirit.

Her love and loyalty to her family and friends, her dedication to her faith, and her affection for all living creatures paint a portrait of a woman who truly lived to give love and light to others. Tammy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her and will forever remain in their hearts.
