Sylvia Moore Jones

Her service will be conducted at 2:00 on Tuesday afternoon, January 31st, 2023, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home with Reverend Ken Hughes, Johnnie Jones, Jamie McKenzie, and Nathan McKenzie officiating.  Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery and the family will be receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.  The family also invites friends for a time of visitation on Monday, January 30th, 2023, from 4-8 PM at the home of her son, Jonathan, at 1213 Branchwood Ln., Hartsville.  

Mrs. Jones was born in Hartsville, a daughter of the late Robert Hugh & Corrie Gainey Moore.  Sylvia was a friend to all, who greatly loved her grandchildren and all children.  She never made an enemy and if anyone didn’t like her, she would simply pray for them.  In her spare time, she loved to crochet.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Johnnie Lee Jones of the home; children: Laura (Donnie) Hall, Robin (Jeff) McKenzie, Jonathan (Joy) Jones all of Hartsville; grandchildren: Jamie McKenzie, Nathan McKenzie, Emilee Grace Jones, and Caroline Jones; brother, Robert Ernest “Bobby” Moore of Hartsville; also many other friends and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Morrell Nursing Center for their care of Mrs. Jones.
