Sherry was born on August 2, 1964 in Florence, SC, to her dear parents, Marion Sylvester & Kathryn Lanier Anderson.  She grew up in a very loving home and was the older “SIS” to brother, John Meadors Anderson.  She received her diploma from Lamar High School.  Over the years, she worked at Florence Travel Plaza, Mar Mac Mfg., Fit For A King, and was a loving caregiver to several families.  She would always say her greatest joy was being a mother to her son, Michael Lewis Edmonds, Jr. and a grandmother to Justin, Brianna, and Wesley.  Malachi was also a special child she assisted with his autistic nature and others that were especially close to her heart are Alex, Olivia, Andy, Drayton, Nathen and Austin who she adored and enjoyed very much!  Sherry had a knack when it came to children because she was very witty and caring which allowed her to relate to them better than most, especially with “special children”!  She also enjoyed helping decorate for parties and church events.  She had a flare for style given her upbringing & influence by her maternal grandfather, Gordon C. and grandmother, Ann Meadors McLaughlin of Florence (deceased).  Paternal grandparents were Warren Hugh and Virgie Bryant Anderson of Timmonsville (deceased).

Sherry fought an eight month battle with cancer, also being diabetic which made it more difficult along the way.  She was a very good cook and enjoyed trying new recipes.  Recently, she had also begun planting flower boxes on the deck and enjoyed attending them.  She said it was amazing to see them grow so fast “like a child” as she so fondly said.

Most importantly her relationship with Jesus Christ was evident, especially the last few months and even though her family and friends will grieve deeply but not without hope.  She lived her life in the embrace of Christ, and we know that, through Him, we will be united.

She is survived by her mother, Kathryn Lanier Anderson (Methodist Manor-Florence) special companion-Larry Griggs (Hartsville) son-Michael Lewis Edmonds, Jr. (Florence) brother-John M. Anderson (Timmonsville) niece- Katlin Nicole (Nikki) Anderson (Darlington) nephew- John M. Anderson, Jr. (Brittany) great niece-Ellaina, great nephew-John Anderson, III (J.T.) (Society Hill) cousin-Laura Watts Osmundson (Jerry) Alexander, Olivia, and Andrew (Timmonsville), sister-in-law - Carla Anderson.

Pre-deceased by Jennifer Lee Sims – A special young woman “like a daughter” who also loved her children, Justin, Brianna, Wesley & Malachi.
