Shelby William Barr

Funeral services for Shelby William Barr, age 73 will be held Wednesday at 12:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Patrick Dye and Rev. Charles McLendon will officiate. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at the Florence National Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Shelby was born in Florence a son of the late Joseph Edward Barr and Myrlene Evans Barr. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Good conduct Metal, National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Service Metal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon W/Device and the Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar.

Surviving are his wife, Robin Galloway Barr, Hartsville; one son, Shelby William (Pam) Barr, Hartsville; one daughter, Shelia Barr Voisen, Hartsville; two step sons, Jamie (Renee) Beasley, Hartsville and Wesley (Mary Beth Bennett) Beasley, Hartsville; one brother, Frank (Connie) Barr, Florence; one sister, Alice (Danny) Mizell, Raleigh; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jody Barr, Jimmy Barr and L. Gene Barr; 2 sisters, Margaret Parker and Dorothy Johnson.
