Shaquander Shavon Mixon

Bishopville, SC

     Shaquander Shavon Mixon was born on March 2, 1983, in Sumter, South Carolina, and grew up in Bishopville, South Carolina, where she was well known and loved throughout the community.

     Shaquander graduated from Lee Central High School in 2001. She later began a career in the insurance industry, where she was known as a hardworking and respected professional. She also joined the Order of the Eastern Star, Louvenia Chapter 3, in Bishopville, South Carolina, on February 18, 2014, where she held the position of Conductress.

     Those who knew Shaquander will remember her for her loving heart, easygoing personality, kindness, and giving nature. She had a way of making people feel comfortable simply by being herself. Her beautiful smile and unforgettable laughter could brighten any room.  Shaquander enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time in her own space, trying new restaurants, shopping, and simply living life on her own terms. She had a sweet soul and a peaceful spirit, and she never felt the need to be anyone other than herself. Her genuine personality and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

     Shaquander’s life was filled with love, family, and meaningful connections. On August 9, 2026, Shaquander made her transition to eternity, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue through her children, her family, and the many people whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Clarence Rogers.

     She is survived by her partner, Michael Watters; mother-in-love, Robin Johnson, her two sons, Miguel Watters and Mekhi Watters; her father, Ronnie Mixon Sr.; her mother, Brenda Mixon; her brother, Ronnie Mixon Jr.; her paternal grandparents, Ella Mixon and Harry Mixon; her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Rogers Dixon; her uncles, Clarence Rogers, Danny Mixon and his wife Judy Mixon, Cedric Mixon, and Anthony Mixon; her aunts, Shirley Rogers-Johnson and Teresa Rogers; along with a host of relatives, friends, and loved ones.  She was also a mother-in-love to Michael William Watters. 

     Shaquander’s presence touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, kind heart, and genuine spirit will remain in the hearts of those she left behind. Although she is no longer with us physically, her love and legacy will continue through her children, her family, and the many lives she touched. Her memory will live on in every smile, every laugh, and every cherished moment shared with those who loved her.

     May Shaquander Shavon Mixon rest peacefully, knowing that she was deeply loved, truly appreciated, and will never be forgotten.

     The service celebrating her life will be conducted at 1 o’clock on Sunday afternoon, August 16th, 2026, from the Lee Central High School Auditorium. Pastor Pamela Rufus will officiate, with a committal following in St. John Cemetery. The family invites friends for a time of visitation on Saturday afternoon, August 15th, 2026, from 1-3 at Norton Funeral Home.
