Russell Geries

Hartsville, SC Mr. Russell W. Geries age 64 passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. A visitation in his honor will be held Thursday, June 16, 5-7pm at Norton Funeral Home. Mr. Geries was born in Greenville, IL the son of the late Roy and Wilma Harrison Geries. He was a United States Navy Veteran andretired from Nucor Steel. Most recently he was employed with the Hartsville Airport.Russ was an avid fisherman, an Eagle Scout,furniture maker, and was known to many as the "shrimp man". He enjoyed history, reading andworking crossword puzzles. Surviving are: Son: Sid Geries, Hartsville. Daughter: Mary Helen (Brad King) Geries, Hartsville. Sister: Helen (Curtis) Bohannon, Florida. Sister In Law: Judy Geries, Missouri. Family Members: Fran (Grady) Weaver, Cyndie Geries, Lezlie Weaver, Rhett Cagle, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Allen Geries.
