Ruby Rhodus Harrington

We are honored to post the obituary for local family and friends of Mrs Harrington.

SUMTER – Ruby Rhodus Harrington, 83, widow of Cecil Thomas Harrington, Sr., died Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Sumter Health & Rehabilitation.

Born May 28, 1939, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Martin Rhodus and the late Corine Rebecca DuBose Rhodus Ard. She was a member of Solid Rock United Pentecostal Church in Hartsville.

She is survived by three children, Judith Hendrix (Mushie) of Sumter, Thomas Harrington (Stacy) of Sumter and Rev. Eddie Harrington (Bridget) of Hartsville; six grandchildren, Kevin Hendrix (April), Amanda Munn (Perry), Scotty Harrington (Stephanie), Wessie Harrington (Caren), Shelby Jo Geddings (Travis) and Danielle Hicks (Bryan); and five great grandchildren, Sierra, Bailey, Blair, Wesley and Turner.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dana Kay Harrington.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Harrington officiating. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Hendrix, Scotty Harrington, Wessie Harrington, Travis Geddings, Bryan Hicks and Jamie Brunson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Munn, Homer Morris and James Maxwell.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 900 Saltwood Road, Sumter.
