It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosario Perez Fernandez Gibson, a loving wife, mother, grandmother. Born on December 5, 1932, in the picturesque town of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, Rosario embarked on a life filled with love, family, and devotion that would resonate with all who knew her. She passed away on September 10, 2025, at her cherished home, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy woven with the threads of compassion and warm memories.

Rosario was a devoted member of St. Mary the Virgin Mother Catholic Church, where she immersed herself in the embrace of faith and fellowship, making significant contributions while her health permitted. Her unwavering spirit and dedication to her family were paramount; she took great pride in embracing her heritage and instilled the same love in her children as she nurtured their growth into remarkable individuals.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jessie Deleslie "J.D." Gibson of Hartsville, and her two adoring daughters, Angela Upchurch (Chip) of Walterboro and Eva Gibson of Hartsville. The warmth of her love extends to her six grandchildren: Ashley Clark (Payton), Jay Gibson, III (Brittany), Jessica Upchurch, Joanna Repass (Zack), Hampton Upchurch, and Riley Gibson, alongside her treasured great-grandchildren, J.D. Gibson, IV, Everett Gibson, Amelia Barnette, and Kalub Clark. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who cherish her memory.

The Gibson family's profound gratitude extends to Agape Hospice and especially to Sheron James-Graham for the exceptional care they bestowed upon Mrs. Gibson during her illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Perez Munoz and Maria Angeles Fernandez Gutierrez, her son, Jessie Gibson, her daughter-in-law, Crystal Gibson, and her beloved siblings Concepcion, Julia, and Mercedes, Jose Maria "Pepe"
