Ronnie Wayne "Pineapple" "Buster" Jackson, a devoted husband, loving father, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026. Born on July 11, 1958, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Ronnie lived a life full of passion, dedication, and joy.
Ronnie was a skilled welder who dedicated 20 years of his life to AO Smith, where he not only worked diligently but also made lasting friendships. He was known for his athletic spirit, especially on the softball field, where he proudly served as the pitcher for AO Smith’s team. His love of competition extended beyond sports; Ronnie also raced at the Florence Motor Speedway in the cruiser bruiser class, thrilling fans and friends alike with his fearless drive. Music held a special place in his heart — he delighted in singing karaoke and playing the guitar, sharing his spirited performances with those around him.
Beyond his work and hobbies, Ronnie devoted himself to serving others as a member of the Lake Robinson Rescue Squad, a testament to his compassionate and courageous nature.
Ronnie's family was the cornerstone of his life. He shared 35 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Eleanor "Ellie" Jackson of Hartsville. Together, they raised their daughter, Tiffany Jackson (Timothy Burrow), also resides in Hartsville. Ronnie’s bond with his sisters, Sue Hagerman of Greenville, SC, and Elizabeth Dugger of Raleigh, NC, remained strong through the years. His legacy continues through his nephews, Rusty Reed and Robbie Martin, and his great nieces, Leilah Martin and Hazelyn Reed, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews who carry forward the love and memories he created.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Hazel Jackson, siblings, Oscar, Beulah, Tommy, Johnny, Grace and Paul Jackson, and a step-son, Derrick W. Sowell.
The family invites friends and loved ones to honor Ronnie’s memory at a visitation to be held on April 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home and Crematory in Hartsville, located at 1414 West Carolina Avenue. This gathering will provide a time to share stories, celebrate his life, and find comfort in one another’s presence.
Ronnie Wayne "Pineapple" "Buster" Jackson’s extraordinary spirit and generous heart touched many. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and joy that will forever brighten the lives of those who knew him. Though he is deeply missed, his memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who were blessed to know him.
