Rodney Wyatt Kinard

Hartsville, S.C.

Rodney Wyatt Kinard, born September 9, 1953, in Fairfax, South Carolina, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.

He was the beloved son of the late Grady Coldred Kinard and the late Ruby Lou All Kinard.

Rodney devoted more than 45 years of his life to serving families through the life insurance industry. He began his career with Liberty Life Insurance Company before continuing with Kemper Life Insurance. His work allowed him to live in several communities throughout South Carolina, where he built lasting relationships with countless families. To many of his clients, Rodney was far more than an insurance agent. He became a trusted friend and, in many cases, family.

A man of unwavering faith, Rodney loved the Lord and faithfully served his church. He will be remembered for his deep kindness, generous heart, and willingness to help anyone he met.

Rodney enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors, but nothing brought him greater joy than being with his family. He was a loving and faithful Christian, son, brother, husband, daddy, and Papa. His greatest blessing and proudest accomplishment was the family he loved so deeply.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Gloria Kinard; his brothers, Larry Kinard and Stephen Kinard (Wendy); and his sister, Melissa Kinard Rowell (Davey).

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Joseph Kinard (Holly), Joanie Galloway (Chad), Janet Kinard, and April Kinard. He was a proud Papa to Alicia (Brice), Ryan (Blake), Andrew, Taylor (Jeremy), Justin, Jordan, Cooper, Kirston (Cason), Tucker, Ty, Walker, and Wyatt. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Papa's little buddy Jase, affectionately known as "Goose," Jaxon, Tilly, Thorson, Loki, and Maverick. He also leaves behind his very special niece, Erica Bales, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout South Carolina.

In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jonathan Jacob Kinard, and his sister, Patricia Ann Kinard.

Rodney's legacy of faith, compassion, integrity, and unwavering love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His life was a testament to serving others, trusting God, and loving well. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he has entered his eternal home and now rests in the presence of his Savior.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 pm at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home in Hartsville. Rev. David Mullen will officiate.
