Richard Charles Putnam

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Richard Chrles Putnam on July 29, 2026 while at McLeod RMC.

Richard was born in Hartsville a son of the late Donald David Putnam, Sr. and Mary Etta Langston Putnam. He loved the Carolina Gamecocks, loved gardening and had a green thumb for anything that he grew. He loved to eat guacamole and a cherry Doctor Pepper. He served for four years in the U.S. Navy having served in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by one son, Wallace Hess Putnam, Hartsville; four grandchildren, Taylor Putnam, Emmot Putnam, Madison Putnam and Scarlet Putnam; three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald David Putnam, Jr.
