In loving remembrance of Mr. Richard Lee Jones, aged 78, a service to honor his life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Patrick Cemetery, under the guidance of Pastor William Griggs and directed by Norton Funeral Home. Friends and family will gather for a time of shared memories following the service.

Born in Hartsville to Ray and Grace Talbert Jones, Richard embraced life with wit and integrity. A man of faith and commitment, he served as an Elder at Patrick Presbyterian Church and was an esteemed member of the Masons and Shriners. His passion for the outdoors manifested in gardening and fishing, and he carried his enthusiasm into sports as a devoted South Carolina Gamecocks fan. A beloved husband and father, Richard's greatest pride was his family.

He leaves behind his cherished wife of 58 years, Joyce McLain Jones, and their children, Laurie Jones with Jeff Poston of Hartsville, and Jennifer Gainey with Wayne of Patrick. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Allison Brown, Andrew Traweek, and Ava Traweek. His siblings, Bobby Jones with Lynn of Lake Junaluska, NC, Annie Rae Jefferies with Leo of Chandler, AZ, William Jones of Hartsville, and Carolyn O'Neal of Patrick, along with numerous special friends, mourn his departure.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
