Rev. Paul Sullivan

October 16, 1932 — July 17, 2011

Brunswick, GA Paul Martin Sullivan, Jr. husband of Emily Kirby Sullivan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2011 in Brunswick, GA where he had lived for the past two years. Born in Enoree, S.C. and raised in Buffalo, S.C., he was the son of the late Paul Martin and Helen Sumner Sullivan. He was also preceeded in death by a brother, Glenn Sullivan. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, a son Mark Sullivan of Savannah, GA, a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Richard Wood of St. Simons Island, GA and two grandsons, Wade and Stephen Reaves. He graduated from Union High School in Union, S.C. He earned degrees from North Greenville Junior College, Furman University and Southeastern Seminary. Pastor Sullivan served four churches in South Carolina; Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Ware Shoals, S.C., Poe Baptist Church, Greenville, S.C., Ridge Spring Baptist Church, Ridge Spring, S.C. and First Baptist Church, Manning, S.C. Throughout his ministry he held numerous positions in the associations he served. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for Southern Mutual Church Insurance Company. Pallbearers will be Phillip Caulder, Billy Best, Larry Williamson, Jimmy Strange, Carlyle Ardis and John Igo. Honorary pallbearers will be the Southern Mutual Church Insurance Board of Directors. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 2:00 pm at West Hartsville Baptist Church, Hartsville, S.C. Visitation will be Tuesday July 19, 2011 at Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville, S.C. from 5-7 pm. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Hartsville directed by Norton Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Prkwy.
