Mr. Randall Carter Huggins Jr., 55, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and lifelong public servant, passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 4th, 2026, while at home with his family. Born September 18, 1970, he was the beloved son of the late Randall Huggins Sr. and the late Mary Nancy Walker.

Randy dedicated 38 years of his life to the fire service, courageously responding to emergencies, saving lives, and exemplifying the values of bravery, loyalty, and selflessness. He was a trusted mentor and brother to countless colleagues, many of whom he considered family. His service extended beyond the nation’s borders, having served nearly three years in Iraq, where he faced challenges with courage and resilience. He also spent 25 years driving trucks, helping communities with quiet dedication and professionalism.

Randy’s heroism was matched only by his devotion to family. He was a loving husband to Marianne Bles Huggins, a proud father to Felisha Smith (children Christina, Robert, and Christopher) and Sapphire Jones (husband Dylan, daughter Chloe), and a cherished grandfather. He was a guiding presence to his nephews Michael Huggins (wife Breeze, son Oden Lamar), Steven Huggins, and a brother to Walter Huggins.

Those who knew Randy will remember him as a man of integrity—direct, dependable, and strong in his convictions. He lived a life defined by service, responsibility, and quiet strength, always putting others before himself without seeking recognition.

A funeral service honoring Randy’s life, his 38 years of service in the fire department, and the love he gave to family and friends will be conducted at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, February 7th, 2026, from the Hartsville Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.  Reverend Daniel Poston will officiate with a committal following in the St. Matthew Christian Church Cemetery of Bishopville.  Randy will be laid to rest with full fire department honors, in recognition of his lifelong commitment, sacrifice, and service to others.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Miracle Network / Joseph M. Still Burn reflecting Randy’s enduring dedication to helping those in need.

Randy’s legacy of courage, service, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. He was a true hero—on duty, at home, and in life.

Norton Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to be with the Huggins family during this time.
