Peggy Dennis Lloyd

It is with saddened hearts the family of Mrs. Peggy Dennis Lloyd, 86, announce her passing. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 31, 2025 while at McLeod Hospice House. Funeral service will be held January 3, 2026 at 12:00 noon at the Elim Methodist Church, Oates Community, Lamar, SC. Rev. Andy Williams, Rev. Edward Herlong, and Mr. Jimmy Blackmon will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow the service at Elim Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home.

 Mrs. Lloyd was born in Hartsville on May 25, 1939, a daughter of the late Mr. Carrol George Dennis and Mrs. Susan Holloman Dennis. She married the love of her life, William Fred Lloyd, on December 21, 1957. They were married almost 68 years, as Fred passed on October 9, 2025.

Mrs. Lloyd was a member of Elim Methodist Church where she served as church historian and secretary / treasurer for the DeEtte Oates Women’s Circle. Mrs. Lloyd retired from SPC Credit Union. Mrs. Lloyd was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, affectionately known as “Nanny” to 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Each child had a favorite meal. She made wonderful costumes for her grand daughters, and could always be counted on to hem or repair a favorite garment. She always had a sympathetic ear for her children and grandchildren. No matter what, she was always on their side. She loved to travel with her husband, visiting many countries. Italy was her favorite. She loved her dogs, cats, and horses and had many pets throughout her life.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lloyd was preceded in death by her in laws, Mr. Laurie Matthew Lloyd and Mrs. Louise Register Lloyd, brother in law Gerald Lloyd, and sister in law Linda Lloyd Clements.

 Surviving are her children: Cheryl (Jimmy) Blackmon, Freddie (Cyndie) Lloyd, Toby (Gaye) Lloyd, and Brad (Angel) Lloyd; Grandchildren: T.C. (Jessica)Lloyd, Erin (Michael) Wolfe, Jamie Blackmon, Clay (Brittney) Lloyd, Breanne (Cuyler) McAuliffe, Caroline (Michael) Smith and Chase Flinchum; Great-grandchildren: Jaymack Lloyd, Grant Lloyd, Ellis Lloyd, Mac Wolfe, Grey Lloyd, Rhett Wolfe, Sawyer McAuliffe, Bowen Wolfe, Carsan (CC) Lloyd, Layton Smith and Avery McAuliffe; Sister: Carolyn Dennis Bradley; Sister in Law: Connie Lloyd; Brother in Law: Richard Lloyd, and nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

 The family would like to thank the staff at English Meadows (The Retreat at Carolina Bay) for their support and care over the last few years and the unending love from our family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elim Church, 3900 Oates Hwy, Lamar, SC 29069.
