Paulette Wright King

A Celebration of Life for Paulette Wright King, age 79, will be held Thursday at 2:00 at the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Becky Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the Lamar Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Paulette was born in Dillon, the youngest of 18 children and a daughter of the late Arthur and Ida Marie Hatchell Wright. She was a member of the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She loved the Lord and never met a stranger. She and her husband Bill loved to attend gospel singing.

Surviving are her husband of 45 years, William W. (Bill) King, Sr. Hartsville; one daughter, June (Jerry Hall) Bryant, Hartsville; three sons, Reggie Bell, Lamar, Ernest (Sherry) Bell, Calhoun, GA and Barry Bryant. Sr., Darlington; 12 grandchildren, David (Clint) (Missy), Stone, Hartsville, Kiefer (Christy) Stone, Hartsville, Stacy Bell, Darlington, Lacey (Damion) Bell, Laurinburg, N.C., Andrea (Ken) Sturkie, Florence, Jordie (Ashley) Bryant, Coward, Jennifer Bryant, Hartsville, Barry (Jennifer) Bryant, Jr. Darlington, Angie (Shenard) Cottingham, Darlington, Lauren (Richard) Engel, Florence, Paige (Jordan) Rivers, Florence and Christain Bell, Calhoun, GA, Andy Cole, Darlington; several great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Snyder, Round Lake, IL; five step sons, William (Michelle) King, Jr. Hartsville, Thomas King, Hartsville, Charles King, Alabama, Mickey (Jeannine) King, Hartsville and Wayne King, Hartsville; two step daughters, Louise (Jerry) Ballew, Conway and Betty Jean Lee, Columbia; special nephew, Allan Rivers, Lexington, N.C. She was preceded in death by three step daughters, Marilyn Dority, Barbara Jean Killough and Becky Ann Holt and by 17 brothers and sisters.
