Mr. Paul Theron Howle, Jr., a native of Hartsville, South Carolina, who spent the later chapter of his life in Indian Trail, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home, following a period of illness.

Mr. Howle was born in Hartsville, a son of Paul T. Howle, Sr. and Mary “Maggie” Hutchinson Howle. He was raised with strong values rooted in family, hard work, and loyalty. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served his country with honor. His greatest love was his family, and he believed deeply in doing what was right and showing up when it mattered.

In the later chapter of his life, Paul lived with his son, John Paul Howle, and his family, where he was loved, cared for, and surrounded by those closest to him.

He is survived by his son, John Paul Howle, and his wife Beverly; his grandson, Liam Howle; his bonus grandchildren, Grayson Brantley, Parker Brantley, Abby Singleton (Hunter Singleton), and Dennis Brantley III (Taylor Brantley); and his great-grandchildren, Tatum Jo, Georgia Rose, and Hudson Myles.

He is also survived by his sister Betty Howle Woodham (Mac); nieces and nephews Paul Jeffrey Woodham, Shelley Howle, Johnny Howle, April Howle Gainey, and Amber Howle, Morgan Marshall, along with numerous extended family members.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Paul T. Howle, Sr., mother, Mary “Maggie” Hutchinson Howle, brothers Johnny Allen Howle and James Richard Howle, and by beloved family members who went before him.

Paul will be remembered for his strong work ethic, honesty, and quick sense of humor. He never met a stranger and was always ready with a smile or a joke. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and believed that family was defined not by labels, but by love and presence.

Paul faced illness with courage and clarity, choosing connection over ceremony and time together over tradition. In keeping with his wishes, Paul’s Celebration of Life was held while he was still with us, at his request, on February 14, 2026. It was a time of togetherness, love, shared memories, and presence – honoring him in the way he wanted most.

Paul Theron Howle, Jr’s. story is one of strength, love, laughter, and enduring connection
