Patricia Kirby Spears

     It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the passing of Mrs. Patricia Kirby Spears. Mrs. Spears went home to be with The Lord on Friday evening, September 25th, 2026, at the age of 89.

     Born in Timmonsville, Mrs. Spears was a daughter of the late William and Sadie Knotts Kirby. Patricia and her late husband, Grover, were truly world-travelers. Her favorite place to go was to the beach, and she loved flying. Other hobbies included gardening and watching old movies, but her true love was spending time with her family.

     Surviving are her children: Athena Moree, Grover A. “Ron” Spears, Jr., and John A. (Denise) Spears; grandchildren: Daniel (Rebecca) Moree, Rachel (fiancé, Sterling Barfield) Spears, Jason (Melinda) Spears, Julie (Nathan) Tollison, Jennifer Parnell, Brittany (Johnny) Bridges, Bradley Spears, Jerry Kearns, III, Kayla (Michael Walters) Kearns, Megan (Kayge Truax) Kearns; and 23 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her daughter-in-law, Joyce F. Spears, and numerous nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grover Aaron Spears, Sr.; brothers and sisters; and 2 daughters-in-law.

     Her service will be conducted at 2 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon, September 29th, 2026, by the graveside of Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Kevin Walters officiating. The family will be receiving friends Monday evening, September 28th, 2026, from 5-7 at Norton Funeral Home.
