Patricia Ann Ogsten Frazier

Patricia Ann “Patsy” Agsten Frazier, lovingly known to most as Mrs. Frazier, entered her heavenly home on August 26, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on March 14, 1929, in Charleston, West Virginia, Patricia was the daughter of the late Herman and Hazel Agsten. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Dr. Milton Gray Frazier, and her sister, Marion Prowse.

 A gifted pianist from her youth, Patricia began serving as church pianist at Randolph Street Baptist Church during World War II, when so many women were called to other duties. She later pursued biblical studies at Piedmont Bible Institute (now Carolina University) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. On September 6, 1947, she married Milton, and together they embarked on a life of ministry. For over six decades, Patricia embraced her role as a pastor’s wife with grace and joy. Their ministry extended far beyond the pulpit, as they traveled the world on mission endeavors—including more than 20 trips to Israel—touching countless lives along the way.

 In 2002, Patricia recorded and released an album of her own hymn arrangements, a project completed just as she faced a breast cancer diagnosis. During her surgery, her medical team played her CD in the operating room—a testament to the peace and faith her music carried. Her arrangements have since inspired and comforted listeners around the world. In recognition of her enduring faith and influence, Patricia was honored with the SHE Magazine Extraordinary Woman of Faith Award in 2016.

 Patricia’s greatest earthly treasures were her family. She is survived by her son, T. Gray Frazier (Christine); daughters, Tricia Outlaw and Melodie Frazier Griffin (Dan). She was the cherished grandmother of Tim (Emily), Audrey (Brad), Leighton, Gretchen, Justen (Traci), Alicen, Jonathan, Meredith, Abby, and Sav; and the proud great-grandmother of Riley, Jack, Shelby, Chelsey, Seby, Sebastian, Maye, Nicholas, Dylan, Nolen, Kayli, Averi, Julien, Kaden, JJ, Emaleigh, and Graylen.

 A celebration of Mrs. Frazier’s life will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Hartsville. Rev. Jonathan Bradshaw and Rev. Paul Coward will officiate. Burial will be on Tuesday September 2, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Florence National Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville. The service will be Stream Lined on Norton Funeral Home Face Book.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricia’s memory to Emmanuel Baptist Church, Carolina University, Trans World Radio, Midnight Call, or Gideons International—ministries that reflect her lifelong devotion to Christ and His work. Patricia Frazier lived her life with music in her hands, Scripture in her heart, and sacrificial love for others. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith and grace will continue to echo through generations. She certainly lived by this C. T. Studd quote, “Only one life, ‘twil soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” Well done, thou good and faithful servant.
