Mary Louise Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mary Lou Smith. Mary Lou was born on April 10, 1962 to Mary Lou (Jones) Hopper and Charles J. Hopper and had just celebrated her 60th birthday with family and friends.

God decided that He needed Mary Lou and she passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. She is survived by her parents of Bishopville; a sister Doreen Tyner and brother in law Robert Tyner of Bishopville; a brother John Hopper and sister in law Cory Hopper of Wurtsboro, N.Y.

Mary was loved as a dear Aunt by Anthony and Michael DeLuca also by Samantha and John Hopper, Jr. and by Kaylee DeLuca. Mary Lou was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Morningside and Retreat At Carolina Bay. Mary Lou unselfishly volunteered at Carolina Pines Hospital and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it.
A million times we’ll need you, a million times we’ll cry. Part of us went with you, the day God took you home. Always in our Hearts until we meet again.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday May 20, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Dan Patineau will officiate.

Norton Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the Smith family.
