Mary Elizabeth Hartley

Mary Elizabeth Hartley, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 30, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on August 7, 1971, in Silver Springs, Maryland, she touched the lives of many during her time on this earth.

Mary was known for her sentimental nature, always cherishing the moments she shared with her family and friends. A true queen of dad jokes, she had a remarkable ability to bring laughter to any gathering. Her affection for children and the elderly mirrored her compassionate spirit, as she dedicated countless hours to volunteering and helping those in need.

Her hobbies included reading, traveling, and playing board games, all of which she enjoyed immensely. People were drawn to her warmth and joy, making every interaction with her memorable.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Jimmy Hartley of Hartsville, as well as her nephews, Brett Hartley and Brandon Hartley, three nieces, Lauren Hartley, Hartsville, Karsyn Hartley, Dillon and Regan Hartley, Darlington. She is also remembered fondly by her special cousins, Lana Buford Rutoskey from Indiana and Juanita Marie Farre from Minnesota, along with her uncle, Gene Serdena of Venice, California, and many other cousins and family members. Her friends, LeAnn Lehmann and Vickie Metz from Maryland, held a special place in her heart and are mourning her loss.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Linda Osman Hartley, and her brother, Robert Michael Hartley, Jr. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

A private service will be held by her family at a later date.
