Margie Gaylord

Mrs. Margie Hatfield Gaylord, 79, of Bishopville, passed away Tuesday evening, October 24th, 2017, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday in New Hope Baptist Church of Rembert. Reverend Buddy Amerson will officiate and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family is also receiving friends at the residence, 44 Appaloosa Lane, Bishopville.

Mrs. Gaylord was born in Borden, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Hugh C. & Beatrice Sansbury Hatfield. She was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church and will be remembered as a lady who loved and cared for her family with all her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Gaylord of the home; son, Christopher “Gene” May and wife, Julie of Rembert, daughter, Carol Amerson and husband, Eddie of Bishopville, and son, Ernest McLeod, Jr. of Texas; grandchildren: Robin Christmas and husband, Charles, Elizabeth May, Christopher May and wife, Kim, Johnny Amerson; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: Hugh “Clint” Hatfield and wife, Gloria and Shirley Hatfield; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hatfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Clinton May and wife, Regina Bucklew; siblings, John Henry Hatfield and Eva LeMart Hatfield.
