Mrs. Margie Brower Riley Gainey, age 84, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. A Celebration of Life Funeral service will be 6:00 PM Monday, June 30, 2025 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Jonathan Bradshaw and Reverend Timothy Wayne Gainey. The family will greet friends from 5:00 – 6:00 PM Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of his daughter, 497 Byrd Road, Patrick, SC.
Mrs. Gainey was born January 30, 1941 in Wadesboro, NC a daughter of the late Clarence and Sarah Buff Brower. She was a graduate of Cheraw High School and retired after a career in finance, having worked at TranSouth Financial, CitiFinancial, and Hudson Loans. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Hartsville and a former member of Westside Baptist Church of Cheraw. Known for her remarkable energy, Margie was beloved for her unwavering love for her family and her devoted prayer life.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gainey was also preceded in death by a brother, Buck Brower, and grandson, Ray Keith.
Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Joseph “Joe” L. Gainey, Sr. of the home; children, Elizabeth Caroline Riley of Cheraw, SC, Kathryn Riley (Donald Ray) Keith of Patrick, SC, and Angela R. Riley (Joe West) of Ruby, SC; step-children, Joseph L. (Kathy) Gainey, Jr. of Henderson, NC, Timothy (Rebekah) Gainey of Lexington, SC, Michael (Donna) Gainey of Hartsville, SC, and Luke Gainey of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Jessica Riley, Abbi Lang, Grayson Lang, Melissa Keith, Jennifer Keith (Lance) Lowe, Richard (Gennifer) Owensby, and Madason Gibson (Kaleb) Carnes; 17 great grandchildren, 9 step- grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and brother, Franklin Thomas (Cindy) Brower of Cheraw, SC.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Gentiva Hospice and Crescent Hospice for the extraordinary care and support extended to Mrs. Gainey and their family during this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Gentiva Hospice or Crescent Hospice.
