Margie Atkinson Berry

     It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Margie Atkinson Berry. Margie passed away Sunday evening, November 2nd, 2025, while at home with her family. She was 78 years old.

     Mrs. Berry was born in Hartsville, a daughter of the late John & Elise Howle Atkinson. Margie loved gardening; picking butterbeans was her favorite vegetable to gather. She was the definition of being family oriented. Everyone she met was family and she never met a stranger.

     Surviving are her children, Reggie Atkinson and Karen Renee Smith; 1 grandchild, Marshall Atkinson; great-grandchildren, Brantley “BB” Atkinson and Blakley “Blake” Atkinson; siblings, Barbara Annelle Rabon and Macey Kirven; special friends: Wendy Boatwright Hicks, Will Hancock, and Brandon Spencer.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Berry; siblings: Sarah Howle, Doris Atkinson, Bud Atkinson, Robert Atkinson, Clyde Atkinson, Allen Atkinson, Carolyn Baker, and Vernon Atkinson.

     Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 o’clock on Thursday afternoon, November 6th, 2025, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home with a committal following in Westview Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday evening, from 5-7 at the funeral home.
