Mrs. Howle was born in Hartsville a daughter of the late John and Ellen Gainey Hutchinson. Ms. Maggie was able to witness to five generations of her family. She worked at Roses, retired from Sara Lee (Leggs), then ran a consignment shop with her husband for a short time. That did not keep her and her late husband from finding time to babysit many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very straight forward and she did not sugar coat anything. She was a lifetime member of the Hartsville First Church of the Nazarene where she worked in the nursery and serving in anyway shape or form they needed.

Surviving is her daughter, Betty H. Woodham (Mack) and son Paul Howle (Joyce); sisters, Katherine Rivers and Louise Pritchard; grandchildren, Buddy Woodham, Shelly Howle, Johnny Howle, April Gainey, John Paul Howle and Amber Howle; numerous great grand as well as great-great grandchildren who loved her very much.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Theron (Dick) Howle; sons, Johnny Allen Howle and James "Ricky" Howle and granddaughter, Shelia Woodham Morrell; brothers, Blease, Frank, Bill, Luther and Grover Hutchinson; sister, Lanell Anderson.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Legacy of Hartsville for the good care which they provided to Mrs. Howle.
