Lou Beth Kelly Grantham

Lou Beth Kelly Grantham, 94, resident of Greenwood, SC, and formerly of Hartsville, SC, passed away, Tuesday afternoon, November 30th, 2021, at Hospice House of the Piedmont in Greenwood. Lou Beth was the widow of Thelbert Grantham and mother of Beth, Jennifer, and Meg.

Born May 25, 1927, in Hartsville, SC, she was the daughter of the late DW and Eula Campbell Kelly. Lou Beth and Thelbert were married, November 20, 1948 and were married until Thelbert’s death in 2004. She was a member of Savannah Advent Christian Church in Bishopville, SC. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was known for her kindness and sweet nature.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Tessie Garland, and a brother, Billy H. Kelly, both of Hartsville, SC.

Lou Beth is survived by her three daughters, Beth Satterfield (Phil), of Greenwood, Jennifer Lee (Roger), of Mocksville, NC, Meg Grantham, of Atlanta, Ga; three grandchildren, Reid Satterfield, of Hendersonville, NC, Jason Proctor, of Mocksville, NC and Kristen Proctor, of Durham, NC; a nephew, George Anthony Kelly of Hartsville, two nieces, Delaine Childress (Blaine) of Spartanburg, and Kim Coker, of Hartsville; and many great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Savannah Advent Christian Church on Friday morning, December 3rd, 2021, beginning at 11:00 with Reverend John Gallagher and Reverend Charles McLendon officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Lou Beth’s name to the Savannah Advent Christian Church Cemetery Fund at 1948 Ashland-Stokes Bridge Rd., Bishopville, SC 29010 or to the Hospice House of the Piedmont at 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
