Loretta Lee Davis

Miss. Loretta Lee “Rhetta” Davis, daughter of the late George Pierce and Thomasene Chandler Davis was born October 8, 1951 in South Carolina. She grew up in Charleston SC in the West Ashley area. After graduating from St. Andrews High School, she attended the University of SC and Baptist College. She spent many years living in Ormond Beach FL before moving to Summerville SC where she was a beloved elementary school teacher at both Summerville Elementary and Alston-Bailey Elementary.

Miss. Davis was a member of Summerville Baptist Church. She quietly departed this life Wednesday, August 11th, 2021 at Anthem Lakes in Jacksonville, Florida.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of  her children: Will (Dottie) Rizzo of Summerville SC, LeAnna (Jeremiah) Teuscher of Jacksonville FL, and Taylor Rizzo of Los Angeles CA; three grandchildren: Paris Rizzo, Davison Rizzo and Huxley Hayward; brother, Chip (LaDonna) Davis of Columbia SC; a niece and nephew and a host of devoted cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held on August 21, 2021 at 6:00pm at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Pinchum Sly Road / Camden Highway, Bishopville SC, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ark, Alzheimer’s Family Support Services at 502 West 5th North Street, Summerville SC 29483.
