Lide Hosea Johnson

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Lide Hosea Johnson on July 30, 2026 while at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Lide was born in Hartsville a son of of the late Coyt and Mary Grantham Johnson. He was a lifelong farmer and a devoted husband, father, and loving grandfather.

Surviving is his wife: Peggy Boykin Johnson, Hartsville; three sons Chris Johnson, Craig Johnson and Travis Johnson; one daughter, Vicki (Mark) Shealy, all of Hartsville. Two grandchildren, Zoie Shealy and Fisher Shealy; One brother Laverne (Catherine) Johnson Heath Springs and one sister Alice (Roger) Ammons Cleveland TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Foster Johnson, James Johnson and Johnny Johnson and two sisters, Ada Mae Wilson and Ann Gainey.

Graveside services will be held Saturday August 1, 2026 at 11:00 at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Johnson will officiate. Family will receive friends at the residence at 1724 Brunt Branch Road, Hartsville, S.C. and following the graveside service.
