Laverne Hopkins

Funeral services for Laverne Hopkins, Sr. age 63, will be held Saturday at 3:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery in Lee County.  Visitation will be Friday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Laverne was born in Bishopville a son of the late Eugene and Annie Joyce Hopkins. He was employed with Dawkins Concrete for the past 32 years. He was a loving husband, father , grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by everyone.

Surviving are his wife, Tammy Cooper Hopkins, Hartsville; five sons, Laverne Hopkins, Jr., Camden, Chad Brannon, Gastonia, Christopher (Kristen) Brannon, Gastonia . Claude (Amy) Gardner, Walterboro and Derrek Nivens, Gastonia; three daughters, Darlene (Ben) Henderson, Sumter, Betty Stevens, Hartsville and , Chesterfield; two brothers, Terry Hopkins, Bishopville and Stanley (Debbie) Hopkins, Bishopville; one sister, Kathy Stevens, Bishopville; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
