Laura Meeker

Mrs. Pauline “Polly” Meeker, 91, of Pageland, South Carolina and formerly of Hartsville, South Carolina went home to be with The Lord on Friday evening, October 26th, 2018.

She was an avid gardener and could grow anything; was an avid sports fan and loved her family.

She leaves behind her sons, Ed Curran and wife, Pauline of Aurora, Illinois and David Curran of Yorkville, Illinois, and Chris Meeker of Phoenix, Arizona; her daughters: Connie Ware of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Margaret Podschweit of Hartsville, South Carolina, Marilyn Bowe of Pageland, South Carolina, Rae Woods and husband, Herman Leatherman of Hartsville, South Carolina, Jill DeVilder of Auburndale, Maine; several stepchildren; 45 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Elma Stickel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray & Minnie Short; a brother, Richard Short; sisters, Edna Vorhies and Veva Vorhies; husbands, James E. Curran and Homer Russell Meeker; sons, James L. Curran and Robert “Bobby” Curran; grandsons, Robert Bryan Curran and David H. Podschweit; great-granddaughter, Addison Karkut and special friends, Tom Nichols.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30th, 2018, in the Hartsville Chapel of Norton Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Also, a remembrance of her life will take place on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in Leez Place at 2738 North 48th Road, Sandwich, Illinois.
