Kenneth Carl "Ken" Lane

Mr. Kenneth Carl “Ken” Lane, 83, of Hartsville, passed away Thursday morning, June 25th, 2020, while at home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday morning, June 27th, 2020, from Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Carl Hunsucker officiating.  The family will speak with friends following the service at the graveside.

A native of Dresden, Ohio, Ken was a son of the late Carl & Estelle Williams Lane.  He worked with Sonoco Products Company for 18 years, serving as their first chief pilot.  Later, he became the third generation to continue his family owned business, Lane Trucking.  Ken was a big game hunter who loved hunting and fishing.  He made trips out west and even 2 trips to the Arctic Circle.  Being a Veteran of the United States Military, Mr. Lane greatly loved and supported his country.

He is survived by his, daughter, Kendra Woods and husband, Dennis of Kingsport, Tennessee; son, Gordon Lane and wife, Laurie of Hartsville; grandchildren, Lacey Kelly and husband, Corey, Brooke Watkins and husband, Robert; and one great-grandchild, Emma Kelly.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church at 302 Dunlap Drive, Hartsville, South Carolina 29550.
