Kenneth Napoleon Floyd

Hartsville, SC 

     It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the passing of Mr. Kenneth Napoleon “Kenny” Floyd “Tiny.” Mr. Floyd went home to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, August 20, 2026, while at MUSC Health – Charleston, with his family by his side. He was 69 years old.

     Kenny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved his family deeply, and few things brought him greater joy than time spent with those he loved.

     Kenny was the loving husband of Margaret Floyd and a proud father to his son, Matthew Floyd (Leslie), and daughters, Kathy Filyaw (Derrick) and Brittany Powers (Kimberly).

     He was a proud grandfather to Carley, Caroline, Luke, Mason, Powers, Kalum, Rebecca, Caleb (Leah), and Adam (Amber). His family continued to grow with the blessing of his great-grandchildren, Elijah, LeeLand, Ember, Silas, Kinley, and Caleb Luke. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Danny Floyd, and his great-grandson, Samuel “Sammy,” Silas’s twin brother, whose memory remained a special part of the family.

     Kenny is also survived by 

his siblings Chris Floyd (Wendi) and Miriam Strickland, widow of the late Ben Strickland; his brother-in-law, Herb Mozingo, husband of the late Marie Mozingo; and his sisters-in-law, Jane Strickland, wife of the late Charles Strickland, and Brenda Floyd, wife of the late J.M. Floyd.

     For many years, Kenny worked for Farmers Telephone Company, where he built not only a career but many lasting relationships throughout the community.

     Kenny’s faith was an important part of his life. He was heavily involved in his church and loved serving and being a part of his church family. His faith in Jesus was something he carried with him throughout his life, and his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at home with his Savior.

     Anyone who knew Kenny also knew how deeply his love for the South Carolina Gamecocks ran. He was one of the biggest Gamecock fans you could ever meet. Win or lose, he loved his Gamecocks, and Saturdays during football season were always a little more special when Carolina was playing.

     Kenny leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, laughter, faith, and love. His absence will be deeply felt by his family, church family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched throughout the years. While his family grieves his passing, they are grateful for the years they were blessed to have him and find peace in knowing that this goodbye is not forever.

     Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever a Gamecock.

     The service in celebration of Kenny’s life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home, with Reverend Brent Melton officiating. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
