Katie Jean Gilbert

Mrs. Katie Jean Gilbert, 80, of Lamar, passed away Tuesday morning, June 28^th, 2022, while at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 on Friday morning, July 1^st, 2022, from the Hartsville Chapel of Norton Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Richardson officiating.  The graveside service will follow at 1:00 on Friday afternoon at the Florence National Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

A native of the Ashwood Community of Lee County, Mrs. Gilbert was a daughter of the late Robert Paul & Eula Frost Green.  Katie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Surviving are her husband, Gene B. Gilbert of the home; daughter, Tammy (Richard) Gilbert Besch of Lamar; grandchildren: Ricky (Tiffany) Besch, Ashley (Chuck) Norris, Brandi Besch; great-grandchildren: Emmett Besch, Savanna Besch, Sawyer Besch, Beaux Norris, and Pepper Norris.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Laverne Green, Ruth Dunn, Paul Green, Jr., and Carl Green.
