Hartsville, SC
Mrs. Katherine “Mrs. Kitty” Johnson, a Christian-Baptist born in Manila, Philippines, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday night, April 21st, 2024.
Katherine was a mother of 5, grandmother of 9, and had several great-grandchildren.
She lived with and was cared for by her daughter, Danielle Zawislak, son-in-law, Josh Zawislak, and their 3 children.
Retired from Floor Daniels Construction, she was the only female in her work division. For several years, Katherine ran a family-oriented game room, “Mrs. Kitty’s Place” off 52 highway in Darlington in hopes of providing a fun and safe place for community entertainment. In the early 90’s, Katherine enjoyed Martial Arts, achieving a first-degree Brown Belt in Karate.
Her life-long hobby was reading, but her greatest joy was spending time, watching movies and singing with her grandson, Robert Cole and granddaughters, Katie Johnson and Zamera Zawislak.
She was known for her short stature, giving heart, and sarcastic humor. Her mark in this world will never fade.
Per Katherine’s request, there will be no funeral service and her final resting place will be beside her late husband, James Hildreth Johnson.
May you have eternal Heavenly peace. We love you dearly and will miss you forever.
Norton Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to be serving the Johnson family.
