Judy Weaver Lane Rabon

We are honored to share the obituary on Mrs. Judy Rabon as a courtesy to local family and friends.

Our beloved Judy Weaver Lane Rabon, of Florence, South Carolina, passed away on February 10, 2026, at the age of 83 after several years of living with primary progressive aphasia. She loved her family and friends and filled her home with warmth and kindness. Judy was kind, generous, and compassionate, and she loved the Lord.

Judy had a joyful presence and truly lit up a room when she entered. She appreciated music and played the piano and sang in her church choir. She loved Ridgecrest Baptist Church and faithfully served on many church committees over the years.

In her earlier years, she enjoyed her career with Fleet Mortgage Corporation and retired as a Senior Loan Officer in 1996.

Most of all, Judy cherished being Lee and Jody’s mother. She spent countless hours at sporting events—football, baseball, basketball, bowling, and whatever season of life her boys were in. As a devoted team mom, she supported them wholeheartedly and welcomed their friends as if they were her own. She was a blessing to all. Her sons are thankful for the life lessons she taught and are proud of the way she lived her life.

As her family grew and her sons married, Judy finally gained daughters and anxiously awaited grandchildren. After the loss of her first husband, Jerry, to cancer, her grandchildren became a source of light in her life, and she spoiled them in every way possible. Affectionately called “Mama J,” Judy was everything a grandmother was meant to be.

A native of Florence, South Carolina, Judy was the daughter of the late George Cleatus Weaver, Jr. and the late Geneva Surles Reaves. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 35 years, Gerald “Jerry” Lane; her husband of 15 years, Dallas “Pete” Rabon; and her brother, Gerald “Pete” Edward Weaver.

She is survived by her two sons, Gerald “Lee” Lane Jr. (Tiletha) of Hartsville and Jody Bryan Lane (Lisa) of Florence; three grandchildren, Gerald Preston Lane (Kathryn), Whitney Lane Billingsley (Ethan), and Bryan Adam Lane (Madison); and two great-granddaughters, Aiden Grace Billingsley, Remi Hope Billingsley and 1 great-grandson Sawyer Adam Lane.

Also surviving are her brother, George “Buck” Weaver (Dianne) of Florence, and her sister, Jean Brown of Rockingham, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 13, at 3 p.m. at Florence Memorial Gardens at 3320 S. Cashua Drive, Florence, South Carolina with visitation immediately following.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at The Manor and McLeod Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Mama J. In remembrance of Judy’s life, the family requests that those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
