Joyce Howell O'Neal

Services for Celebration for Joyce Howell O'Neal age 74 will be held 2:00pm Sunday, November 13, 2022 from the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Pastor Sidney Howell, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Saturday evening 5:00-7:00pm at Norton Funeral Home.

Mrs. O'Neal went home to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Sidney Howell Sr and Claribel Lane Howell.

Surviving family - son Joseph W. O’Neal Jr (Taylor) of Myrtle Beach, son Christopher H. O’Neal (Jenifer) of Hartsville; grandchildren Madison O’Neal and Morgan O’Neal of Hartsville, Joseph W. O’Neal III of Myrtle Beach, Matthew (Emily) O’Neal of Spartanburg, Nathan O’Neal, Ray O’Neal, and Natalie O’Neal of Florence; siblings Bonnie H. Bell, Sidney (Rose) Howell, and Clara (Mack) Atkinson all Hartsville; many dear nieces and nephews

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She spent many years teaching children in Sunday School and loved working in the church nursery. Joyce and her husband were part of the founding members of the Emmanuel Christian School Crusader Athletic Booster Club. Joyce graduated the top of her class at Florence Darlington Technical College. She retired after more than 20 years at Chase in Florence, SC. Joyce loved her family but grand-babies were the apple of her eye.

Predeceased by: her parents, husband Joseph Wesley O’Neal Sr, grandson Matthew Ryan O’Neal.
