John Wilson Isgett, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on July 30, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on August 8, 1951, in Hartsville, South Carolina, John lived a life rich in love, faith, and fellowship, always holding his family close to his heart.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia Isgett, who stood beside him through life’s joys and challenges. Together, they built a remarkable family that became the centerpiece of John’s world. He will be dearly missed by his children: Julie Middleton (David), Jefferson, Chris Isgett (Winter), Florence., his fur- baby, his dog Boone. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren—Kory Middleton (Kayla), Hartsville, J-Mac Isgett (Caroline Howard), Hartsville, Brooke Isgett (Ryan Thompson), Darlington, Emme Isgett (Hunter Watford), Lynchburg, Seth Isgett, Hartsville, Lily Pate, Jefferson, Sailor Grace Powell, Florence, Kellen Isgett, Hartsville and Aspen Isgett, Florence—and his beloved great-grandchildren, Easton, Hayden, and Bayler Middleton.

Family ties were paramount for John, and his siblings, Shirley Clark, Hartsville, Harvey Isgett, Hartsville, James Isgett (Sara), Patrick, Richard Isgett (Julie), Hartsville, Sib O’Neal (Candy), Patrick, Paul Isgett (Valerie), Hartsville, David Isgett (Dana), Hartsville, Margie Atkinson (Curtis), Mathiston, MS and Joe Isgett (Angel), Hartsville and numerous nieces and nephews. John’s presence in their lives was a source of strength and laughter, and the bonds they shared will be forever cherished.

John was predeceased by his parents, Lawson and Lucille Isgett, his son, John Isgett Jr., and his granddaughter, Cayla Isgett. He also joins his sister Janie Huestess, father-in-law Perry Sellers, mother-in-law Eleanor Sellers, brothers-in-law Robert Clark and Don Huestess, nephew Robert Clark Jr., and niece Abby Huestess in eternal rest. Their memories live on through family stories and the lasting impact they made.

A man deeply rooted in his community, John’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially when all could gather together under one roof. Whether sharing a meal, reminiscing about old times, or simply enjoying each other’s company, those moments brought him immense happiness.

John was passionate about sports and found camaraderie out on the golf course and playing softball, where he forged lifelong friendships. He was an ardent supporter of Gamecock football and baseball, never missing an opportunity to cheer for his team—often accompanied by plenty of good-natured eyerolls through victories and defeats alike.

A lover of the beach, John found peace and happiness on the shore. Whether it was a spirited week with his family or a quiet escape with his beloved Cindy, the sand and sea were places of rejuvenation and contentment for him.

Throughout his years, John’s faith and relationship with Jesus deepened, bringing him strength and peace. He faced life’s joys and sorrows anchored by his beliefs, and as he is welcomed home, his journey of faith continues—reunited with the loved ones he so dearly missed.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember John’s life at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 1635 Cedar Creek Rd, Hartsville, SC 29550. Visitation will be held at Cedar Creek Baptist Church on August 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm. Interment will take place at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

John Wilson Isgett touched the hearts of all who knew him. His kindness, laughter, faith, and devotion to family leave a lasting mark that will be carried forward in the lives of those who love him. While he will be deeply missed, his legacy endures, reminding us of the value of family, friendship, and faith.
