Services of Remembrance for John H. (Buddy) “Hotdog” Rogers, III age 82 will be held 3:00pm Friday at the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home. Pastor Matt Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Rogers passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 while at Carolina Pines RMC. He was born in Hartsville the son of the late John H. Rogers, Jr. and Thelma Anderson Rogers. He was a graduate of Hartsville High School, he served in the United States Army for 3 years, he served his country in Vietnam and the Dominican Republic. He was a service officer for D.A.V Chapter 72 in Darlington and Chapter 47 in Hartsville. He was a retired Supervisor from Galey Lord. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, where he has served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He was the President of Colonel Kolb Hunting Club for approximately 35 years and is a life time member.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Billy Rogers, Patrick, Mickey Rogers, Patrick, Ricky Rogers, Patrick, Scott (Deborah) Rogers, Patrick; sister, JoAnn Newman, Murrells Inlet; grandchildren Alex (Ben) Weatherford, Hunter (McKensie) Rogers, Jordan Rogers, Denise (Chase) Freeman, DJ Rogers; 9 great grandchildren, with one soon to be here.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nancy Rogers, daughter, Cindy Rogers, sister, Ruth Proctor, brothers, Laverne Rogers, Peanut Rogers, a sister that was still born.
