John C. "Jack" Lott

John C. "Jack" Lott, a devoted husband, father, and friend whose warmth and dedication touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully at his home in Hartsville, SC, on April 30, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Born on August 29, 1943, in Sidney, Ohio, Jack lived a life rich with love, hard work, and cherished memories.

Jack’s life was marked by a variety of careers that showcased his adaptability and commitment. Early on, he worked for General Highway Express in Ohio, contributing to the trucking industry. Later, he served as a caretaker for a special family’s home and grounds in Nokomis, Florida, where his careful attention and dedication left a lasting impression. He worked maintaining the grounds for the City of Hartsville, followed by 15 years, Jack was a trusted pharmacy courier for Care South in Hartsville Through each role, Jack’s steadfast work ethic and gentle spirit were evident.

Beyond his professional life, Jack’s passions reflected his love for family and simple joys. A passionate collector, he adored John Deere scale models and anything bearing the John Deere name. His skill and creativity were showcased as he lovingly transformed lawn mowers to resemble John Deere tractors, a hobby that brought him immense joy. He also treasured his model trains, an interest intertwined with his love for planning unique family vacations, crafting different and memorable experiences year after year for those he held dear.

Jack was more than a hardworking man; he was a wonderful, caring husband, father, and friend. He was a faithful member of the First Church of God of Reformation in Hartsville, where his faith and fellowship were a cornerstone of his life.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis Lott of Hartsville; his daughters, Tondra Kaiser and Vicky Tyner, both of Hartsville; his sister, Judy Zweibel of Sidney, Ohio; grandchildren Nicholas Kaiser of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Brenton Kaiser (Saren) of Albany, Georgia; and great-grandchildren Peyton Kaiser, Max Kaiser, and Jett Kaiser. Also mourning his passing are his nieces Cindy Wertz and Diane Rohn (Tom), nephew Steven Klecker (Carol), and several other great nieces and nephews who all carry forward his legacy of kindness and love.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John E. and Mildred Grace Wise Lott, sister, Virginia Klecker and her husband Ambrose, a brother, Richard Lyn and numerous cherished pets who were his companions over the years.

A visitation will be held on May 7, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 5:00 PM from the First Church of God of the Reformation, located at 1823 Kelleytown Road, Hartsville, SC 29550. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Jack’s life, honor his contributions, and share in the memories that defined his remarkable journey.
